The U14 Magic season comes to an end. After the tryouts in May 2009 the girls improved dramatically this past season. The Magic took on some challenging summer tournaments in 2009 and finished with a second place finish in the Mt. Hood Challenge Cup. After returning to the Premier Gold league in the fall, the Magic became a contender for a long time to win the league but had to settle for 4th place behind THUSC Sodium, LOSC Extreme and Oregon Rush. All in all an awesome season. In the state cup Magic moved on to the quarterfinals and lost in a dramatic game against FC Portland Platinum. In the summer tournaments 2010 the Magic girls experimented with a 4-3-3 formation after playing a 4-4-2 and a 3-5-2 for most of the year. The girls have done a tremendous job improving, working hard, and playing with passion and heart.
The tryouts for the U15 year is coming up on August 9-11 and the stage is set for a very competitive tryout. All of the players will then enter their respective high school tryouts a couple weeks later and then play soccer for their school colors. In late November, club training will resume and the Magic will not only play in the newly formed Oregon Premier League but was also invited to participate in the Northwest Champions League. The Magic will also enter a couple College Showcase tournaments to expose their talents to searching college coaches.
